Delivering on debut

Toughest of tests

Meeke arrived at his debut Dakar looking for a new challenge. The Saudi-Arabian event duly delivered with fires, electrical and driveshaft failures hampering the ex-World Rally driver. He kept going though to finish 11th in T3.

Peterhansel delight

Mini's Stephane Peterhansel secured his eighth Dakar win in the car category. The Frenchman perfectly controlled his rally lead throughout Dakar despite several stage-winning threats from Toyota's Nasser Al-Attiyah.
