Meeke gets his reward
Kris Meeke's perseverance has been rewarded with a stage win on Dakar's 337 km test from Wadi Ad-Dawasir to Riyadh. He pipped T3 rival, Mitchell Guthrie, on the last split to go fastest in light prototypes by just six seconds.

A long way to go
Meeke said on Tuesday that he wouldn't give up after his buggy stopped once again during a stage. Today he was second in lightweights and top in T3. An added bonus will be an improved road position for Thursday's tough stage.

3-in-a-row Al-Attiyah
At the front of the Dakar field, it looked like Nasser Al-Attiyah would take a minute out of Stephane Peterhansel's overall lead but a stunning final sector from the Frenchman reduced Al-Attiyah's stage winning margin to 11 seconds.

The race is on
Thursday's 456 km stage will test the crews' nerves as they hit tough dunes and rocky sections. Punctures and mechanical mishaps on Stage 5 could flip the leaderboard on its head.
