JUNIOR WRC

Jon Armstrong and Brian Hoy have overcome Swedish demons, Croatian punctures, and Portuguese bruisings to hold a one-point lead in Junior WRC with two rounds to go.
“The stages in Estonia are much faster and a lot wider than what we had in Portugal,” said Armstrong. “There is a sandier surface with fewer rocks - it is totally different. “The surface can get rutted in narrow section. It will demand a higher-paced rhythm in the car so it should be a nice challenge.”
Armstrong finished second in Junior WRC on last year’s Rally Estonia. It hinted at his ability to compete on any surface in the World Rally Championship. That attribute was further reiterated when Armstrong and Hoy topped Junior WRC on Rally Sweden’s snow-covered stages.
“I know how to win these rallies but the reasons only become clear after you start the rally. If I can find the right feeling we won't be too far away. “It is always difficult going up against drivers that are from those areas but I am getting enough experience now to find my feet quickly and understand what to do in certain situations.”
"It would be good to get some decent points and realistically a podium should be achievable. “As always, we will play the long game, it's a long championship with a lot of points left over the last two rounds. “We need to be smart as well as fast.”
