Motorsport Ireland reveals 2023 rally calendar
The Irish Tarmac Rally Championship’s Galway International Rally will kickstart Irish rallying in 2023 on 4 February.
The two-day asphalt event is the first of 21 rallies on Motorsport Ireland’s 2023 rally calendar.
2023 marks the second half of Motorsport Ireland’s 24-month calendar with national closed-road events running in biennial rotation. It means the National Rally Championship has a completely different schedule than 2022.
The eight-round National Rally Championship will start in March at the Midland Moto Stages Rally, its first running since 2019.
Five gravel rallies are included in Motorsport Ireland’s calendar. Tipperary returns after its 2021 cancellation and joins Ireland’s four forest rallies from 2022.
Carrick Forestry Rally has switched from April to an end-of-season date in October.
The Irish Tarmac Rally Championship remains unchanged with the NI-based Circuit of Ireland and Ulster Rallies completing its seven-round (eight for historics) series.
September’s Wexford Stages Rally remains a closed-road anomaly as the only national event to run over two days returning on successive years.
